How to create a new project

We decided to deploy a modified version of Galaxy that allow our customer to easily submit their project and to follow their advances. It is accessible at this address: http://ngs-lims.igbmc.fr.

To submit a sequencing project to the facility, please first apply for a LIMS user account by completing the register form (menu: User -> Register) on our online LIMS. Once your account will be created (generally within 48 hours), you will be able to perform a new submission on the platform LIMS.

Setp 1

Once logged in, go to the Request tab.

Step 1

Step 2

Click on the "Create new request" button.

Step 2

Step 3

You can now fill the request form. Tooltips appear for some fields, giving you indications about what we expect you to write. When you have finished, click on the "Create request" button at the bottom of the page.

Step 3

Step 4

You are redirected to the list of your projects. You can see your newly created project at the top with the "New" state. Notice that it has no name/ID yet ("Not assigned"). Projects are assigned IDs only when it is accepted by the platform.

Now that your project is created, you can add samples to it. To do that, click on the project's name ("Not assigned" for now). You will get to the project's main page. Click on the "Add samples" tab.

Step 4

Step 5

You can specify here information related to each of your samples. If you have special remarks, or specific information about your samples that you want to tell us, feel free to leave a comment in the "Remarks" field. If you want to provide documents (QC, gels,...) you can upload them in the "Share documents" tab. You can also modify information about your project by going in the "Edit request" tab. Once you are done, you can click on the "Submit request" button. A confirmation popup will remind you the cost of the project.

Once your project is submitted, you will not be able to edit information anymore. You will still be able to add samples, but you will not be able to change the existing ones.
